Maximum stake on UK fixed odds betting terminals to be cut to £2

The UK is set to announce a £2 maximum stake on lucrative gaming machines under a crackdown spearheaded by Matthew Hancock, the culture secretary.

The government has been consulting on proposals to reduce the maximum stake on fixed odds betting terminals, which allow gamblers to place bets of up to £100 every 20 seconds, to between £50 and £2.
